Cheap tempura paints. They mix beautifly; only problem is they get dull if I don’t spray over them with clear gloss.

I like seeing things done in neon. As far as which material I do like to work with I’d say wood because its cheap, safe, strong and forgiving. Still I can’t say I do a ton of woodworking. I just appreciate the material.

majored in art in College, (one degree) and my medium was clay. Had a lot of fun with it, and with the kids too, but after college and a few years of holding in my inner artist, I went back to watercolors of high school years. Saw that everyone from a - z is into watercolors, so settled for pin and ink. I now design my own line of greeting cards, produce and sell them throughout the good ole USA….

If I have to pick between large, medium or small I usually work on a medium-sized canvas.
Yeah, yeah, I know! Bad pun.
I paint with acrylics.

Pastels. I love buying pure powder pigments and mixing them with binder to creat any color pastel I want.
The colors are pure and intense because they aren’t filtered through an oil, resin, or latex.
There is no need to wait for drying and work proceeds without any interuption. No need to mix paints to create different hues.
It’s a blend between the control of using a pencil or charcoal and finger painting. An incredible sensually tactile medium.
Only drawback is that a finish piece has to be cared for delicately and framed behind glass. Also quality pigments and pastels are expensive and difficult to find in a store.

Matte medium, because you can use it as an adhesive for collages, as a varnish, as an amendment to paint…very versatile.

Overall, watercolor, because the light actually reflects back through the color from the background paper, which gives it a sense of aliveness for me.
But my favorite painting in the world is “The Dean of Antwerp”, which is oil.
And having seen what Japanese people have done to the medium of quilt making, and screen making using silk fabrics,
that also is a favorite medium.
